Nine Romantic Camping Ideas to Swoon
So you're thinking of surprising your loved one with your camping trip. But what can you do to make them glow and enjoy the trip without simply doing the usual? Try any of those nine ideas I thought up of and have done before (with the positive reactions!):
1. Go Glamping
Nothing screams romantic more so than glamping! Watching the stars as you sit beside each other quietly with a cup of hot cocoa… What is more romantic than that?
This is my favorite and number one activity to do with my partner when I'm outdoors because of the silent intimacy we feel together.
2. Make the Right Food
It isn't a camping trip without food! You don't have to shell out hundreds of dollars to have a good time, but to prepare the right and adequate amount of camping food. Always go for s'mores at the end of the night, then volunteer to cook the whole time as your partner rests. They'll appreciate it!
3. Create a Comfortable Tent
After all, you won't have the best time if you can't cozy up together after a whole day of exploring and fun activities. To make the most comfortable bed, opt to have double sleeping pads and an air mattress. Pack some pillows and very warm blankets as well for some snuggle time.
4. Amp Up the Music
Bring speakers and get the party started. But be careful and avoid disturbing your neighbors! Even a bit of soft-volumed music will do wonders for your night.
Opt to play your favorite songs together and maybe dance a bit under the stars. Nothing is more romantic than the sound of smooth jazz.
5. No Phone
The problem with a lot of campers is that they are always on their phone rather than look up and appreciate their surroundings. Have a no-phone challenge and avoid using any device.
Talk to each other and connect, as it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to communicate without any distractions.
6. Explore Your Surroundings
You don't camp and simply stay by the campfire. You explore your surroundings and hike your way up to greater heights! There are a ton of easy and tough trails to walk around in with your partner. Start breaking a sweat and creating new memories with excellent picturesque views.
7. A Good Glass of Wine
Celebrating a momentous event with your loved one? May it be an anniversary or a birthday, you'll both enjoy a good glass of wine to cap off the night and loosen up after a tiring day. Pack wine glasses with bubble wrap and a good bottle of wine for a beautiful night ahead.
8. Watch the Sunset or Sunrise
Cap the day off by watching the beautiful sunset, or wake up a few hours earlier to have a chat and enjoy the breeze. Then let the sun rise as you prepare hot cocoa or a glass of wine. It's a great way to end or begin the day, especially when you match it with a surprise kiss!
9. Play Games
After dinner or during a lazy afternoon, bring out card games and start bringing your competitive sides out by playing your favorite games together. It gives you a chance to connect with a ton of creative games you can do together. Do dares to whoever loses!
Tips on Camping Safely as a Couple
Now that you know what to do when camping with your significant other, the next thing you need to learn about is how to stay safe when camping together. Here are some tips to help you out:
- Make sure that you both stick together while camping. If you're not familiar with the trail, opt to have a guide with you to avoid getting lost. It's best to have walkie-talkies and other forms of communication in case anything happens.
- Remember that while you want to surprise your significant other, it's best to take heed of the campsite's safety precautions. Check the rules and regulations of the campground to see if you are allowed to do any of your romantic camping ideas.
- If you and your partner are new to camping, then it's best to look for campsites nearby with adequate facilities, such as a bathroom and electrical outlets.
- Also, remember to organize and pack everything you need, including survival and first aid kit. That way, you have an easier time camping and learn along the way. You'll be more encouraged to camp after a successful first time!
